Alexander was taught by the famous philosopher Aristotle. Aristotle taught him about his philosophy on politics and morals. This led to Alexander's love for books, reading, and learning. Aristotle also showed Alexander the morals of justice and courage. I think that Alexander did listen when Aristotle talked because he conquest across the Persian Empire was justified and Alexander never really killed innocent people or was very oppressive. He almost always was liked by the people and was open to suggestions, as I think Aristotle would have wanted him to be.
